If you want the true Rt 66, Oklahoma Onion Burger experience- this is the place you need to visit first in El Reno. Absolutely perfect grilled onions and beef. Nearby places are fun, but this one is authentic!! I can also say the chili dog is the best I ever had with an amazing slaw.

So impressed…if you are looking for a “old school throwback” hamburger diner, this is it. 3 very young men behind the counter, very friendly. I was immediately asked if I had been there before, I hadn’t, and was told that the chili and coleslaw were particularly good. As I was trying to decide what to order, he served me a “sample” of the chili and coleslaw (who does that anymore ?). Both were very good, I even bought a cup of chili to go. The place is counter only, about 14-15 stools. Very old flat top griddle, and shows plenty of use. I asked for crispy fries and shown the fry basket, for my approval, before serving the fries. The cheeseburger was very good, onion smash burger style. If you are looking for “down home”, this is it. Recommended.

Cozy diner with the best onion burgers in town! There about 10 or so seats at the counter and a picnic table outside-limited space so be prepared to get the food to go if they're busy. We've tried the other two spots in El Reno for onion burgers but, Robert's has the best.

An amazing trip down memory lane. Just like it was in 83-84. Brought my kids and grandkids, they thought it was amazing to be able to watch your food being made up close and with no microwaves. Ed you've done an amazing job keeping the roots alive. Young staff was polite and friendly. We will be returning soon. Thanks again Ed

Outstanding service!! Hamburgers are thee best!! Place was way cleaner than the reviews would have lead you to believe. They give you like 2lbs of fries. Order with this in mind. 2 orders of fries would feed half the town. Cook had little to say but I wasn't there for his conversation just his grill skills. The servers were super nice and attentive. You can't beat the price. If you have the chance stop in and grap ya sum..

I went to Robert's in El Reno (because Sid's was closed) on June 1 2026. It is the epitome of the hole-in-the-wall diner and it's glorious! The owner has owned it for 37 years and his burgers are a thing of beauty. No seasoning on the meat and it's minimally handled, the burger/onion combo did ALL the talking. On top of that, Robert's was very reasonably priced, both the owner and my fellow patron were very nice and it seems to be where the local's go. The owner knows his regulars and what they order (it was impressive). It was a very cozy and inviting place, and I wholeheartely recommend it. It was the most satisfying eating experience of my vacation.

Oh my goodness! What a find. Small, counter seating only... but worth the stop. We had deluxe burgers with onion, French fries and tater tots. Drinks were free refills! Doug, the owner was friendly and very hospitable! STOP here when in El Reno, Oklahoma.

Great experience. Fantastic onion burger. Slaw was good on coney. If I make it back, I am trying slaw on hamburger. Caution: this is not for those with acid reflux since hamburger, hot dogs, chili, and onions are on the no no list. (I did it for the husband I love.)

100 years of excellence. A quality onion smash burger. No frills, no big signage. Just old school burgers done right. This place is family ran. There’s bar top seating only, so not great for big crowds, but great for a quality intimate sit down with a great American burger.

Both young men making our food were extremely polite and welcoming, despite my group showing up near closing time. Despite this restaurant being known as a burger joint, I actually preferred the hotdog. The chili dog with coleslaw was incredible. It's worth nothing that the burger did fall apart and was a bit overcooked, but the flavor was still very good.
